Sky City: Turmoil in Market Brings Bargains.

You can tell in reasonably excited when i get out and write something on this here blog.

The SKC share price is close to a 1 year low.

It could go lower but at current levels of payout its paying close to a 5.5% return.

At these levels it is a steal at current prices without taking into account the huge levels of building around Sky City in New Zealand and Australia, where they operate.

Im sticking this one here on my watch-list.

What i want to know was who was buying at $4.30 levels just a few months back?

Mainfreight: $50 Bucks and Beyond

Image result for 50 buck note

I don't know about you but I have been watching the upwards trend in share price of Mainfreight Ltd with much interest, which is why I did one of these last year before the profit announcement in May 2017.

First of all its no surprise to me why its up.

Its well run, self critical and critical of others where its business is being affected and very few announcements to the market.

Lets have a look at some essential figs.

2018

*Net Reported Profit  112.22 mil
*Price Earnings Ratio (P/E) 17.27
*Earnings per Share (EPS) 112.24
*Net Tangible Assets per share 483.40c
*Total Net Div Paid  45c
*Div Yield 1.51%
*Market Cap 3,003,000,000

2017

*Net Reported Profit  88 mil

*Price Earnings Ratio (P/E) 23.29
*Earnings per Share (EPS) 96.24
*Net Tangible Assets per share 329.21c
*Total Net Div Paid  40c
*Div Yield 1.6%
*Market Cap 2,275,000,000

It is currently trading at $29.92c and has closed as high as $31.10c last week and i expect it to trend upwards given the latest figures and the market sentiment that the next profit result out Nov 2018 will be a real doozy.

They - MFT - have finally got it right. They just have to stitch together the various branches tightly and not lose the momentum that they obviously have.

They are winning major new clients.

The only rider to all this going on is if we have a major slowdown in trading between nations.

Peace out.

Since Dec 30 2016 when the share price was $20.71 the share has packed on nearly 2 bucks to be trading at $22.60 currently.

It is trading at these record levels largely because of positive sentiment and it is because it is a great company.

I don't have any motivations either way, i'm keeping this stock until the day I die with a possible big payoff when the vultures circle and they will but either way I don't think it will be enough to tempt the heads of Mainfreight.

It certainly won't tempt me. You would have to be talking well north of $50 to get me to release these.

I'm enjoying this run and feel this May's profit announcement will be a stunner.

The global logistics biz can be a hard beast at the best of times but I feel - the second feel in as many sentences -  that Mainfreight have finally got their ducks in a row.

Can't wait until 30th May.

Hallenstein Glasson: What Do I Do?

Hallenstein Glasson Holdings Ltd is a stock I haven't looked at here since Jan 23 2017.

In case your wondering I now operate from here.

I have owned this particular stock this time for 7 years.

I write this particular column this time because of the recent rise in share price from just under 4 bucks at the beginning of the year to finish yesterday at $6.03.

People like me have loved this stock for years. It is well run by a bunch of penny pincers and has no debt.

As of writing its still paying a net 6.23 % div, which is the MOST on the New Zealand market.

It looks like it is finally making head way and they have got all their ducks in a row.

Online they are doing exceptionally well and Glassons and Hallensteins, their two brands have not really done any better.

They have in fact got a mate who is buying up Hallensteins shares 1a for the past 3 weeks and he now owns - buy my calculations - around 10% of outstanding shares.

Which makes him the 2nd largest shareholder after Tim Glasson.

I own this stock because it pays me well over a 20% pa return and I have no problem keeping it.

You would have to give me somewhere north of $7 bucks to get rid of it.

You would own it first for its still good return and for the fact that some other chap about 2000 miles from here is interested too.

DYOR.
