Cindy Kiro's stance on Youth Justice lacks punch

Cindy Kiro, the pointlessly useless Children's Commissioner has whipped herself into a lather (that has got to be illegal!) over Nationals plan to to something about some of our moronic, wasted youth by putting them in "boot camps".

Tougher, longer sentences have not deterred criminals and all the evidence suggests initiatives that are punitive, employ shock-tactics, or use corrective training as the basis for reforming young offenders are largely ineffective.

"The most effective ways of reforming child and youth offenders focus on addressing the issues in their lives rather than just dishing out punishment. Reform comes from teaching them new skills for addressing their problems. "The hype around escalating serious youth offending and alleged public concerns about unsafe communities is not supported by data. The figures have stayed quite steady for the past 10 years. voxy.co.nz

Ciro underplays the seriousness of the problem and ignores the fact that "tougher sentences" are not being applied at all, in fact quite often young offenders do not get punished or get made to takes responsibility at all and that is the problem we are talking about here.

Kiro's stance is yet more evidence that she is out of touch, ignorant of the facts and not doing her job properly.

Graffiti Crimes

A lot of people would strongly agree with me on the following and just as many would strongly disagree.

That doesn't matter, this is my opinion.

Today's decision in the Auckland High Court to sentence Bruce Emery to four years in jail for killing Pihema Cameron last year leaves most thinking people wondering is there any justice in this world.

When an individual such as this poor young 15 year boy is routinely out early in the morning getting high, drinking and destroying property, you have to wonder where his parents are.

When he is dead at 15 from the consequences of his own actions suddenly there are fingers of blame being pointed at everyone but those truly to blame-his parents and himself.

A poor innocent 50 year old mans reputation is ruined, a family in disarray and financially destroyed and he surely cannot return to his neighbourhood for threat of his safety.

It could well have been Emery's life taken instead of the boys, just like half a dozen people who died in the same area shortly before this case, some by the hand of teenage Maori boys.

Emery's sentence was far too tough.

Magnum Farce

Dick of the week is Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Pizzini, a member of the South Auckland Police who has charged an individual for defending himself in another liquor store hold-up:

Pizzini said the arrest serves a reminder to all that taking the law into their own hands in some circumstances can not be justified.

"Shop keepers and the general public can be reassured that the police will respond with urgency to situations where assistance is needed.

"Ring 111, observe what is happening and let police deal with these situations," Mr Pizzini added.

From Stuff.co.nz

It continues the same vein of politically correct policing that we have seen in a number of similar cases over the last few years that has led to the death of members of the public and police, arrests for victims defending themselves and a consequent increase in this type of crime.

A copycat attack this evening where a lotto shop owner is now in a serious condition is no surprise given the nonsense from moronic cops like Pizzini, and there will be more.

Political pressure on police hierarchy from the Police Minister and Helen Clark to go easy on what is Labour's voter base-the majority of these crimes have occurred in Labour's South Auckland-doesn't seem far from reality.

New Zealand's PC police constables need to be directed by the Commissioner to police instead of being involved in PC nonsense like this.

We are in danger if we cant defend ourselves, and we are increasingly having to because police often don't come in time when called, if they bother to come at all.

It is political and can be blamed on a Labour Government who want to go easy on criminals and make it tough for the ordinary kiwi-as they do in every other government department they use to lord over the populace.

An alternative report on crime

Labours much talked about 1% overall drop in crime released today leads me to discuss another type of report on crime, that of unreported crime and the rise of this phenomenon.

In the last nine years of Labour's 3 terms I have been the victim of crime a number of times:

1. Car broken into - 3 times

2. Assaulted

3. prowlers around the house

4. minor theft - 3 times

5. cyber crime

6. telephone abuse

7. Fraud

I must point out, I have no beef with the police as a whole, it is their political masters that are to blame for the high unreported crime rates

None of these crimes I have reported to police because I have learnt on previous occasions that police in general are not interested in these sorts of crimes and the victim is wasting their time because police have been directed politically to collect tax on behalf of government through vehicle infringement fines instead.

Police time is also taken up with politically correct mumbo jumbo such as police "cultural beliefs" and "diversity".

My friends and acquaintances can tell similar stories.

This is why the official reported crime stats are highly inaccurate and don't tell the full picture at all. Official crime stats are not too clever either. Violent crime is up by 11% for the year and 47% for Labour's 9 years.

The causes of the high crime rates are clear and related directly to the record numbers on welfare, the associated breakdown in families, the lax attitude to personal responsibility placed on doing wrong, that is taught through schools and government social agencies, and the inadequate sentences for the whole range of crime.

Annette King deserves a big mother of a slap across her well upholstered chops for her poor record and so does her party.

Falwasser should be out for the count

http://media.apn.co.nz/webcontent/image/jpg/Falwasserfamily230.jpg

The Falwasser family

I haven't seen the full video of Rawiri Falwasser resisting police officers in a Tauranga police cell in 2006 and neither do I have to to make up my mind that Falwasser was being a violent fruitcake on the day he was injured.

Falwasser was resistant to police from the get go, mentally disturbed and once in his cell refused to leave when he was told to.

He received the bulk of his serious injuries from whacking his head against the cell walls and other minor injuries sustained from cops trying to restrain him-from hurting himself if nothing else.

Once again the perpetrator of a crime gets all the sympathy and the cops get critiqued and undermined in public for merely doing their job.

The flimsy case against the police for "beating" the nascent thief was lost but now the Falwasser family want to sue police.

A typical victim mentality that Labour has bred in certain sectors of Kiwi society over the last 9 years that makes individuals think that as criminals they have more rights than victims.

Pass me a bucket.

Go ahead, make my Day

PC used to mean a big burly strong, tall, male Police Constable not politically correct.

The shooting of an Indian dairy owner by some low life Polynesians last weekend continued the PC garbage image of the police.

Instead of going in with guns immediately and shooting the bugger dead we have an innocent victim six feet under instead.

"Police protocol" apparently had to be followed and 30 minutes after the first call to the boys in blue they arrived. About 25 minutes too late.

This kind of nonsense was also followed after the Kahui slayings and when the young wild man Wallace went on a rampage with golf clubs and baseball bats and was rightly shot for his troubles before he injured or killed an innocent victim.

The constable who shot him was wrongly vilified by the criminal's family and the police gave him little backing.

The problem isn't the cops on the beat as such, but their political masters, the Labour Party, who have hamstrung the cops to such an extent they are too scared to do their duty-protect and serve the public.

When an excuse is made by the cops in the latest incident, that they wanted to make sure it was safe for them before they entered the dairy then you know you have a big problem. What about keeping the public safe, it is your job!!

It is time the head of the Police, Howard Broad, stepped down from his position because of the failure he clearly is. Appointed by Helen Clark herself, this man has been guilty of manipulating young constables in the past, not to breath test him after being found drunk at the wheel of his car. He is a disgrace and so is Clark for appointing him. She knew he was a drunk driver.

What we need is a Dirty Harry rather than a Deborah Harry at the top. New Zealanders are sick of being victims and it is time we took back the streets, in South Auckland and other desolate parts of the country.

Instead of reporting to base after a shooting to get approval to use guns, make sure their hair is parted on the left and their pants are not too tight and put innocent lives at risk, all we need is a Clint Eastwood to answer a victim's call with a few succinct sounds.

BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG.

We know what the alternative is and it is unacceptable to most of us.
