Private Eyes

In the wake of a police whitewash over emails stolen from Don Brash's computer a few years back, probably by Labour insiders, we see the latest stoop in dirty politics by Labour happen in the Onehunga Electorate office of National MP Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga.

Like the incident from a few years ago Northey has denied the accusations but similar to the incident a few years ago the finger can only be pointed in one direction.

Labour and its leader were unable to compete on level footing on policy last year before the general election and were left to wade in the filth and muck that they tried to scrape up on their opposition using taxpayer dosh but were left with the blowback on their own faces.

It seems they haven't learnt from that lesson and are repeating the same gutter politics this year in the Mt Albert Bye Election

Melissa Leigh, National's prospect for the Mt Albert Bye Election needs to keep her private papers private, least they fall into Labours hands, again.

Leaker linked to Labour Party

After Whaleoil and Kiwiblog initially broke the story of who the leaker of "secret tapes" to Duncan Garner was, Granny Herald finally gets n the case.

That of course is the real story here because the contents of the tapes have not amounted to more than a hill of beans and have mostly bitten Labour on the backside.

The individual who made and leaked the tapes to Duncan "Dunkin Donut" Garner is Kees Keizer (real name?) and he was found to have links with the taxpayer funded Labour Party Blog, The Standard, although the Herald reported that Keizer said he wasn't a member of the Labour Party but was identified by Cameron Slater as being a member of Young Labour, the radical shit stirring wing of the mother party.

He said while he had friends and connections in the Labour, including those on the Labour-affiliated website The Standard, he also had friends in National too.

The Standard is the website where a blogger calling himself Batman posted about John Key's supposed links H-Fee. That blogger is believed to be a senior official, most likely party president Mike Williams, although he has denied it was him. more

Previous denials by Labour Party officials at The Standard that they had been involved in either of the two leaks have now been blown apart and the true purpose of the blog is very clear.

Denials by Keizer that he has connections to the Labour Party and that he is merely a free political spirit wandering in the breeze defy the facts of the matter.

Keizer has been duplicitous and secretive and there have also been questions over the tapes validity.

They have been heavily edited by Kiezer and we all know when that is done conversations can become meaningless and in this case highly suspect.

It is just more of the same gutter politics from the left.

Key VS Clark: Principles

John Key's politically savvy decision to put Winston Peters in his place a few months back and refuse to do a post election deal with him should be seen by the wider voting public for what it is.

Highly principled.

Peters has been embroiled in scandal, paybacks and political corruption-just like his senior partner in government, the Labour Party-and the latest detail out today about the Vela Family donations to Winnie only vindicate Key's initial move.

The decision will do well for Key come polling day but we know he didn't do it purely for political reasons because he may need a support partner after grabbing the majority of votes on Saturday November 8.

He has said he would rather not form a Government by relying on a corrupt individual for votes in the house but that is the price that one pays for having principles.

Helen Clark on the other hand has refused to sack Peters, leaving him in some sort of limbo land of Wonderland purgatory, where he somehow gets to keep his baubles while not having his position of responsibility.

Serious issues surround her Minister but she refuses to budge. The latest Vela revelations out today will no doubt be more of the same for her.

Hold on to absolute power at all costs and try and retain it, at all costs again, even if that means using taxpayer money to illegitimately smear your opposition, then lie about your involvement.

It is political pragmatism at best and political corruption at worst. Something that out Prime Minister has perfected over the last 9 years.

This is what intelligent people will see as a lack of principle from our Prime Minister. Her standards are low and therefore her principles simply reflect that.

An interesting contrast to John Keys highly moral and principled stand.

Who is the Deep Throat?

What is more revealing than the uninteresting content on "secret tapes" recorded by an infiltrator at last weekends National Party Conference, is who was it that surreptitiously made the recordings ?

The secrecy of this is the real story. The content is hardly controversial. It is already well known.

It is clear that it was someone from the Labour Party ranks or at an outside chance Winston Peters.

It is a first for New Zealand Politics and a new low in terms of our political landscape.

It appears Labour is going to get even dirtier than they did during the 2005 Election, where at one stage they sent State House tenants pamphlets saying they would all soon be evicted if the National Party won the vote.

Ms Clark is tainted over this Labour leaking of National Party inside info and goes to prove how underhanded and devious she can get.

What next, up-skirt cams in the Women's Beehive loos, video cameras in Lockwood Smith's bedroom (perish the thought).

As John Key has said today, he will not resort to the same sort of gutter politics as Clark and her party have.

Ms Clark must distance herself from this if she want to look a credible candidate for the 2008 elections. It appears that she may have been taking lessons from Winston Peters, this has his DNA all over it.

Like Peters though, she may find her muck raking eventually come back to hit her in the face and Cindy Kiro wont be there to help her out.
