When we compare it with the latest update from Thursday 5th Feb market close we can see that the portfolio is actually mostly marking time, if not slightly up.
The biggest gainer in the portfolio Sky City Entertainment, [SKC.NZ] is up and the biggest loser, Pumpkin Patch Ltd, [PPL.NZ] is even stevens.
I don't look at the Share Investor Portfolio all the time-apart from being depressing you all know that I am a long-term stockholder-but after a 2 month comparison things really don't seem that bad at all.

Have you recently added to your holdings? In your post about FBU, you mentioned your entry price was about $9.75, but in this chart, your average entry price is $5.53 (losing 1c means your return is -0.18%). Am I reading the charts correctly? If so, awesome buying.
ReplyDeleteI have misled you, sorry.
ReplyDeleteMy entry price WAS NZ$9.75 and after dividends and tax credits the shares have cost about $8.50.
On that price then I have lost 35% on my initial purchase.
Those two comparisons that I made where snapshots of the portfolio on those two dates and how they performed on the day.
They have little relevance to the portfolios current worth-which is down around 10% after tax credits and dividends are taken into account.
To have a look at actual losses and gains here are two from the portfolio:
