FULL C-SPAN VIDEO: Barack Obama Presidential Inauguration, Washington, 20 January 2009

Watch the full 20 plus minute video of the Barack Obama Presidential Inauguration in Washington on January 20 the 2009 here.

This was the biggest Inauguration in history. Biggest crowd, number of volunteers, security detail and of course the most costly.

It wasn't one of the greatest addresses in history-I mean what is with all those cliches?-but it was a competent one.

Discuss the Presidential Inauguration here.

Inauguration Day Schedule of Events

Gates to the Inaugural Ceremony open at 7 a.m. CST. Although temperatures are expected to start out in the low 20s and snow flurries are possible during the day, about 2 million people are expected to attend the ceremony.

The inaugural festivities are scheduled to start at 9 a.m. CST on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol. The Inaugural Ceremony will include:

• Musical selections of The United States Marine Band, followed by the San Francisco Boys Chorus and the San Francisco Girls Chorus.

• Sen. Dianne Feinstein provides call to order and welcoming remarks. The California Democrat is the incoming chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee - the first woman to hold the post. She has served in the Senate since 1992.

• Invocation by the Rev. Rick Warren: His selection sparked protests from the gay community and the National Organization for Women. Warren backed a recent ballot measure banning same-sex marriage in his home state of California.

• Musical selection of Aretha Franklin. Obama sang a bit of her hit Chain of Fools to the queen of soul at a Labor Day rally.

• Biden will be sworn in by Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.

• Musical selection of John Williams, composer/arranger best known for movie scores such as Star Wars and Jaws. With Itzhak Perlman, (violin), Yo-Yo Ma (cello), Gabriela Montero (piano) and Anthony McGill (clarinet).

Obama will take the Oath of Office around 11 a.m. CST, using President Lincoln's Inaugural Bible, administered by Chief Justice John Roberts. It will be the first time a president is sworn in by a chief justice whose confirmation he opposed. In 2005, Obama voted against Roberts after President George W. Bush nominated the then-appeals court judge as chief justice.

• Obama gives the inaugural address. The speech is expected to be the most widely watched inaugural address ever.

• Poem by Elizabeth Alexander: A professor of African-American Studies and English literature at Yale and the author of four books of poems. She is America's fourth inaugural poet. She will read an original poem at the inauguration.

• Benediction by Rev. Joseph E. LoweryLowrey is a black Methodist civil rights leader who founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference with MLK.

• The national anthem by The United States Navy Band, the Sea Chanters.

• After Obama gives his inaugural address, he will escort outgoing President George W. Bush to a departure ceremony -- Bush and his wife plan to leave the Capitol in a helicopter -- before attending a luncheon in the Capitol's Statuary Hall.

• The 56th Inaugural Parade will then make its way down Pennsylvania Avenue from the Capitol to the White House. More than 10,000 participants will follow the new president down the 1.5 mile route, from NASA astronauts and U.S. Border Patrol representatives to high school marching bands and Girl Scout troops.

35 year old rapist needs equal justice

The despicable, toxic 35 year old slapper from Christchurch New Zealand who raped a 15 year old boy last year  is now trying to keep her name suppressed to " protect her daughters" who are aged 10 and 15.

Unlike our liberal left, sandal wearing media who would call this a rape if it was a 35 year old man "having sex" with a 15 year old girl, I call what she did to this boy rape rather than "having sex" because the boy is, well, like her own 15 year old, a child and unable to legally give consent.

I choose to emphasize the word legally because this woman broke the law while at the same time the laws of our land treat men and woman offenders differently.

OK, many would counter my own "conservative" stance on this by saying, oh well, its "not the same" with a young boy and an older woman and "most boys that age would be gagging for it".

So whats the problem?

The problem dear readers is that adults, like you and me, are supposed to be looking out for those children around us.

Regardless of any implied or supposed "consent" or "initiation" given by the child.

The fact that the child is below the age of consent is a good indication that getting him to put his dick into you for your pleasure might be the wrong thing to be doing.

Of course the law in New Zealand and other jurisdictions treats the rape of a young boy by an older adult different to the other way around.

It is alot less serious for the older man/younger girl scenario.

Our recent history of women raping young boys and getting away with it has been a sad roll call of desperate women, babysitters, mostly teachers, who have taken advantage of young boys by using their power to get their rocks off.

Lets have some equality in our laws and treat these desperate cows who seek to ruin young boys by raping them the same as the despicable male bastards who get up to  the same thing.

I would love to know the name of this rapist now.

The community, her family, friends and workmates also deserve to know who this sick individual is.

Market outlook flat to uncertain during 2009-2010

The stockmarket plunge that began at the end of 2007 and intensified with an intense panic that has pervaded markets since September 2008 seems to have largely abated.

Have investors just got used to feeling that way or have markets found a range that they are comfortable with and are looking for any positive sign or excuse for a market rally?

Experts are always telling us that the stockmarket is a good indication of how it sees an economy six months from now.

If that is the case then world markets-after the initial collapse last September through October-are seeing a flat global economy with little chance for recovery well into 2009. That is if we see indications that various stimulus packages from Governments worldwide manage to have positive effects on their respective economies.

I have my doubts whether these will work quick enough to stem the downturn.

The US 1 Trillion "rescue package" hurriedly passed at the end of 2008 to ease the credit markets and get banks lending again has largely failed and a proposed Barack Obama led stimulus package of about the same size but targeted at different areas of the economy looks like just more welfare that will once again largely fail in the long-term.

Even positive results in the August-September reporting season from some companies was either met with little positive upswing in share prices or a hope that there would have been a better result.

Either way investors are predicting negative times ahead for companies in their portfolios that are currently performing well.

You have to have balls of steel right now to be buying because the uncertainty over how long this current global recession will last is anyones guess.

If someone tells you they can predict just when the economy will recover they are either lying, trying to sell you something or just taking a stab in the dark.

What I do know is that the economy and markets will recover, because they always have but what I would be unwilling to predict is just when.
